We stayed at Rowan House for a few weeks in December and it was fantastic!
The house is so well equipped for a family. We had 3 of ours with us and were very comfortable. Lots of bedrooms, ample bathrooms and a few living areas gave us plenty of space which meant time spent in the house itself was so relaxing. We entertained in the lovely dining room and the kitchen was fantastic. We used the house as a base to explore Richmond, North Allerton, York, The Dales and as far north as Durham. Everywhere was so accessible with our hire car. It snowed which was such a treat for we Aussies and the village was ideal to take beautiful walks and enjoy the green countryside.
Booking Rowan House, communication and checkin were very easy and without any problems. The home was beautifully maintained and very clean!
Internet was also great but my favourite was curling up with a book in front of the crackling fire. We would recommend Rowan House without hesitation! Thanks for having us!
We had a wonderful family get together weekend in Rowan House. Everything we might possibly have needed was there and the perfect base from which to explore the area. The local pub serves tasty pub grub as well as some good beers and is a two minute walk away. The house was perfect too for a night in too and more than big enough for six adults. We lit the fire, cooked on the Aga and relaxed. Cant recommend highly enough and we would love to go back. - The Gillespie Family Sept 2017
A fantastic 2 week stay at an excellent property. We have stayed at many properties over the years and this is certainly among the top in terms of facilities and the lovely view from the back garden over the paddock and field beyond.
Our 2 dogs enjoyed meeting the horses at the bottom of the garden on a regular basis and lots of places for good walks.
We would definitely stay again.
